STUDENT VISA REFUSALS REACHED HIGH OF 35% LAST YEAR
A new report from international education firm Shorelight found that F‑1 student visa refusal rates reached a decade high in 2025, contributing to a decline in international enrollment. The report shows that visa denials were concentrated in parts of Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, with some countries seeing rejection rates above 90 percent, while denial rates remained much lower and more stable in Europe and parts of South America.
