Equipment donation bridges gap between classroom and industry |
Sacramento State's College of Engineering and Computer Science received a major boost with Bosch Rexroth's donation of industrial computer training station kits valued at nearly $484,000. The equipment will provide students with hands-on experience using industry-standard technology.
"Our students should know what an industrial (computer) looks like and how to program them," said Ray Tang, assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering. "We're using hardware that is now being purchased by everyone, and so our students will have this knowledge. It's kind of a win-win for them."
The donation aligns with the college's efforts to enhance practical learning experiences and prepare graduates for successful careers in engineering and technology fields.
