The veteran-focused nonprofit Catch A Lift Fund has established the Toby Keith Patriot Award in cooperation with the late artist’s family. The inaugural award will be presented to a supporter of the organization April 29 at its sixth annual Northern Virginia Benefit at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville has updated the display in its Taylor Swift Education Center with new artifacts from Swift’s The Eras Tour. These objects will be on view for museum visitors through spring 2026, and are accessible with general museum admission.
The Smoking Section podcast’s Markus Koger will host Nashville Underplay May 21 at 6pm at the city’s 6th and Peabody. Graham Barham will headline, with performers Dalton Dover, Landon Parker and Mike Parker. Email Koger for free tickets here.

Chronicle: Entertainment attorney Joel Katz has died, according to an In Memoriam page on the website of his former firm, Barnes & Thornburg, where he had been Senior Counsel since 2021. Prior to that, he spent spend 23 years at Greenberg Traurig, where he was founding shareholder of the Atlanta office. A member of the bar in both Georgia and Tennessee, Katz had been practicing since graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1969. The school later named a library for him.
Katz's clients have included recording artists, producers, label executives and concert promoters, including Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw and George Strait. He also served as outside legal counsel for the Recording Academy and CMA. Last year, Katz received a 2024 Recording Academy Trustee Award as part of the Grammy Week in recognition of his contributions to the field of recording (CAT 1/5/24). No word on services.
