2025 Staff Council Professional Development Conference: Session Proposal Deadline Extended

Save the date: the 2025 Staff Council Professional Development Conference is taking place May 20. The conference will focus on the theme of navigating tomorrow by embracing change and cultivating adaptability.

We have extended our deadline for session proposals. We are currently accepting session proposals focused on topics like team building, resilience, technology, adaptability, and more. Submit your session proposals by Feb. 21.

Do you know someone who would make a great presenter? Refer someone to present at the conference and be entered into a special raffle.

Chiefs Spirit Week: Feb. 3-7

Feb. 3-7 is UMKC Chiefs Spirit Week. The schedule includes:

Mahomes Monday: Wear #15 and show off your QB pride.
Travis Tuesday: Put on your friendship bracelets and your #87 jersey.
Winning Wednesday: Represent KC and wear any Kansas City gear.
Tailgate Thursday: Wear your tailgating gear, from jerseys to aprons. You can even bring in mini snacks to share.
Red Friday: Wear your RED Chiefs gear.

Departments can enter the department photo contest. Snap a group pic for a chance to win doughnuts for your department.

The week will also feature a Chiefs raffle, where staff can enter to win an exclusive Chiefs swag pack.

Next UMKC Staff Council meeting: Feb. 5, 8:30 a.m.

All are welcome at UMKC Staff Council meetings. Meetings generally occur the first Wednesday of every month (unless otherwise noted), from 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. in-person and via Zoom. Our next Staff Council meeting takes place Feb. 5. Join us in Bloch Heritage Hall (BHH) Room 006 or via Zoom. Our remaining 2025 meeting schedule includes:
