Excellence in Spanish translation and interpreting
UTA's Spanish Community Translation and Interpreting program was the sole baccalaureate program nationwide selected as a 2023 Example of Excelencia for its use of intentional, culturally relevant, evidence-based practices tailored to Latino students and their communities.

The inaugural Homecoming Tailgate is Saturday, Nov. 11, 12-3 p.m. UTA colleges, departments, and organizations can register to host a tailgate area. To reserve a spot, register by Monday, Oct. 16.
Domestic violence workshops

Breast Cancer Awareness Fair
The city of Arlington hosts its second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fair Friday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Bob Duncan Center. Free screenings and health information will be provided.
New campus reflection room
A larger campus reflection room for students and employees opens Monday, Oct. 9. The new location is CAPPA South B at 706 Greek Row Dr. Mavericks can access the northwest entrance using their Mav ID card. Contact Student Organizations at 817-272-2963 for more information.

This is a reminder for employees who recently received notification to complete their annual employee compliance training in Canvas. The due date for annual compliance training is Thursday, Oct 26. New Technology Acquisition Helper
The Office of Information Technology has created the Technology Acquisition Helper, a tool to guide users when requesting technological resources such as software, applications, or services. The Technology Acquisition Helper streamlines the process of identifying resources that require a Technology Approval Process Request.
Employee charitable campaign
Together, through the State Employee Charitable Campaign at UTA, we can provide support to more than 1,000 participating charities that fund food banks, shelters for displaced individuals and survivors of domestic violence, job training programs targeting veterans, the UTA Emergency Assistance Fund, and countless other lifesaving programs.
