Bash on Buffalo
Thanks to everyone who supported the Bash on Buffalo and our sponsors and volunteers who helped make this event possible! Thanks to your support, we successfully raised $110k towards our $140k goal. Prom & Post Prom Tickets
Tickets are now on sale and must purchased by students online through their High5 app by Friday, April 19 at 3:30 pm. Prom tickets: $20/person. Post Prom tickets: $15/person. Prom will be held on Saturday, April 20 from 8:30 - 11:30 pm at the State Historical Museum. Students must arrive by 9:00 and may leave after coronation at 11:00.
Post Prom will be held at Smash Park from 11:30 pm- 2:30 am. Students must arrive by midnight. Required Release: All DCHS students attending Post Prom must have a parent/guardian submit this formThis is a lock-in event, so students must stay until the end. Students may attend Post Prom with a guest even if they do not go to Prom. Please visit Prom FAQ and Post Prom FAQ for more important information.

Tuition Assistance Deadline 
New tuition assistance programs make a DCHS education more accessible than ever before with expanded qualification guidelines. Click here to learn how your family could benefit. Apply online by April 15th - tuition assistance is guaranteed for qualified families and does not affect ESA eligibility. 
Spring Musical Tickets On Sale Now
The DCHS Performing Arts Department will present Newsies on April 25 & 26 at 7:30 pm and April 27 at 2:00 & 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased online.
Spirit Night
Visit Chick-fil-A (4502 University Ave, WDM) on Thursday, April 18. Mention DCHS and 15% of all sales will go back to DCHS to support the 2nd annual Year-End Carnival, a free community-building event for parochial students hosted by the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy at DCHS. 

Uniform Ordering
Uniform ordering will close at midnight on May 15. Order here to ensure your student has new items when school begins in August. Stock held by the Campus Store is intended for transfer families.
Uniform Pants
Beginning August 1 students are required to wear black, navy or khaki chino-type pants (no patch or watch pockets, rivets, jogger/elastic hems, or jeggings). The material is soft cotton and not denim. A visual overview can be found on the Campus Store website. While not required, purchasing through our Lands' End/Dowling Catholic page ensures compliance. 
Senior Yard Signs & Ornaments
Orders for senior yard signs and handmade ornaments will close on April 29. This is a great way to recognize your senior! Pickup will begin on May 6 in the Campus Store.
Guatemala Trivia Night
Trivia Night will be held on Saturday, April 27th at St. Theresa's Parish Hall to benefit the Guatemala Project, a 
DCHS partner since 2014. While in Guatemala the group will build four houses and donate supplies. All proceeds go towards giving families a safe and clean home to live in. Learn more and register here
Volunteer and Job Opportunities for Students
Sacred Heart Vacation Bible School: Various dates/times are available June 3-7 for volunteers 6th grade- adult. Service Hours are available! Sign up online
Christ the King Kids' Club is hiring. Student employee hours are Monday-Friday, 4:00-5:45 pm. Full-time hours are a possibility for the summer program. If you enjoy working with school-aged children, please contact Sara Rooney, school principal.
Summer Art Workshops
Enrollment is open for two summer art workshops. A drawing-focused workshop will take place June 17-20; students will create a cross contour still-life and en plein air drawings. A painting-focused workshop will be June 24-27; students will learn about Matisse and create interior compositions with acrylic. Each will take place from 9:30-12:00 Monday-Thursday at a studio in Urbandale. Limit of five students per workshop. All skill levels are welcome. DCHS has openings for event ticket takers. Interested candidates need to have the ability to function with the online ticketing system (iPad experience is sufficient). Pay is $14 per hour (contracted employee). Questions can be directed to Tom Wilson.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Adoration will be held from 8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. It is available to members of the DCHS community who would like to come in and pray for the school and students. The sign-up link and instructions can be found here.

Nonpublic Transportation Reimbursement
Families who live more than three miles one-way from DCHS may be eligible for a nonpublic transportation reimbursement. Forms must be submitted each semester (by Dec. 1 & May 1). Eligible families will receive one check following the end of the school year. Instructions are available here
 
COLLEGE AND CAREER PLANNING     
Drake University BullD.O.G.S. in Healthcare Camp
This camp will introduce students to careers in the health professions through hands-on laboratory experiences, educational sessions, and interactive discussions with students and faculty in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. 
When: Thursday-Saturday, July 11-13, 2024. Cost: $200 (includes overnight accommodations in a residence hall). Financial assistance may be available. Open to 9th-12th-grade students (2024/2025 academic year) and 2023/2024 high school grads. Learn more and register here
Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth (MITY)
Click here to learn more about a summer program for students in grades 8-11 offering over 100 unique classes in STEM, humanities and the fine arts, all taught by experienced educators.  Small class sizes, field trips and a focus on experiential learning empowers students to pursue their passions with peers from around the world who share their interests. 
Venture Camp
Venture Camp organizes a summer program and free workshops for students interested in business, entrepreneurship, and startups. This April and May, all students can access a series of virtual talks from young entrepreneurs and industry leaders from companies like OpenAI. They are also currently accepting applications for a summer entrepreneurship program this July where students experience entrepreneurship by launching a real business in teams. Learn more

TCU Neeley School of Business will offer summer camps where students will gain hands-on experience, learn from world-class faculty and industry leaders, and build lifelong connections with their peers. Learn more
Engineering Summer Programs
The Catholic University of America School of Engineering is hosting two distinct summer camps for rising juniors and seniors: Engineering New Frontiers Summer Institute (July 22- 26) and 
Computational Biosciences Institute (July 8 - July 17).
