Scrappy and students celebrating Founder's Day
   HAPPY #135
UNT is celebrating its 135th year! On Sept. 16, 1890, President Joshua C. Chilton opened the doors to the first classes at the Texas Normal College and Teacher Training Institute, now lovingly known as the University of North Texas.

Come to the Founder’s Day celebration on Friday, Sept. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the Library Mall (University Union Room 314 if it rains) and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Discovery Park CG130. Bring your student ID for cupcakes, activities and music. Happy birthday, UNT!

   SLEEP SOUNDLY
Struggling to wake up for classes? Needing an extra shot of espresso in your coffee? You’re not alone. As you switch from a summer to fall schedule, health psychologist Dr. Danica Slavish has some advice for improving your sleep habits. Dr. Slavish is an associate professor of psychology and founder and principal investigator for the Sleep and Health in Everyday Life (SHEL) Laboratory. She discusses why sleep matters, how to tell if you’re not getting enough sleep, and how to reset your sleep schedule and stick to it.
