It has been a busy fall at The University of Texas at Arlington. For the seventh consecutive year, we enrolled our largest number of first-time-in-college students, highlighting our dedication to an accessible and high-quality education. I’m also proud of recent accolades we’ve received, as we were named the top public university in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by The Wall Street Journal and our Spanish Community Translation and Interpreting program was selected as a national Example of Excelencia. UTA continues to set the bar for educational success.
Our vision for high-impact research took an important step forward, as we are excited to commence the construction of a $6.2 million Clinical Imaging Research Center, amplifying our commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation.
As we focus on student success, we want every student to have career-enhancing experiences. This month, renowned actor, writer, director, and UTA alumnus Lou Diamond Phillips joined us for a weeklong residency, exemplifying our commitment to fostering creativity among our aspiring actors and filmmakers on campus. It was great to see him connecting and sharing his wealth of knowledge with our students.
As we near closer to the end of our fall semester, I invite you to join us for Homecoming, happening Nov. 6-12, or for any number of the upcoming UTA events we’re hosting.
