Dear UMass Boston Community,
We are pleased to share that a long-term housing solution has now been secured for the remaining East Residence Hall students who have been in temporary housing following the February flooding incident.
Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) has finalized arrangements to lease apartments at Harbor Point on the Bay, located directly across from the UMass Boston campus. This location will serve as semester-long housing for the remaining displaced students while remediation and construction work continues in portions of East Residence Hall.
Harbor Point provides proximity to campus and will allow students to maintain access to university dining, academic resources, and campus life while offering greater stability for the remainder of the spring semester. Students will begin transitioning to these apartments through a staged move-in process in the coming days.
With this placement, all students who indicated they required housing following the pipe burst have now been offered stable, longer-term housing placements. This includes students who have since reoccupied East Residence Hall as well as those who relocated to Emerson College in late February.
We are grateful to the many teams across the university, as well as our partners at COCM and Harbor Point, who have worked tirelessly to secure these solutions and support our students during this challenging time.
