UTA set a new enrollment record this fall, enrolling more than 5,100 first-time-in-college students—the largest freshman class in its 130-year history. UTA’s total enrollment is 42,710.

Why it matters: The record-breaking class underscores UTA's commitment to increasing access and offering a wide range of degrees that appeal to both traditional and nontraditional students while preparing you for the workforce needs of North Texas and beyond. Five UTA colleges also experienced enrollment jumps: College of Nursing and Health Innovation, College of Science, College of Liberal Arts, School of Social Work, and College of Business.

Go deeper: Many students select UTA because of its commitment to optimizing student success and helping ensure graduates seamlessly transition into their careers and maximize the return on the investment of their degrees. Among the top 5% of research institutions nationwide, UTA is one of 21 universities recognized by the Carnegie Classification of Higher Education’s new designations for expanding access to higher education and helping graduates earn competitive wages.

Why it matters: Whether you are in it to win it or just looking for a muddy good time, this is a tradition you cannot pass up. Teams of six players will battle it out in the muddy volleyball courts on the corner of Summit Ave. and Greek Row to determine the overall Oozeball champion.

Important details: The registration deadline has passed, but spots are still available. Late entrants will still be added to a waiting list. Mavericks looking to have some fun in the mud can register in groups or as single players. There is a $60 application fee for groups and a $15 fee for single entrants. Registration is available online or in person at the Maverick Activities Center services and information desk.
