Preparing UTA for the new EPA Methylene Chloride Rule
|
The UTA Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) will be preparing campus stakeholders for compliance with the new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule restricting the use of methylene chloride, also known as dichloromethane. The office’s efforts are focused on collaborating with impacted stakeholders to support UTA’s research use of dichloromethane while ensuring strict monitoring. EH&S will commence outreach to research laboratories and operational units currently identified as using methylene chloride to discuss how to achieve the strict monitoring and exposure requirements from EPA.
