UTA students win CSI competition
|
Students Jacey Concannon, Shannell Prince, Andrea Esparza, Mahek Jaffer, and Joseline Guerrero won first place at the Southwestern Association of Criminal Justice Crime Scene Investigation Competition. The team had one hour to photograph, sketch, and document a crime scene.

With the potential for wintry weather across the Dallas-Fort Worth region in the coming days, the University is urging its students, faculty, and staff to closely monitor local conditions. UTA monitors the forecast and conditions in Arlington in coordination with emergency personnel from the city, county, and region, as well as with officials from the National Weather Service. If UTA is to close or modify its hours, the University will communicate via MavAlert and UTA's website, Facebook, and X accounts.

Are you interested in working on campus but unsure where to start? Attend Student Employment 101 Monday, Jan. 13, 2-3 p.m. in the Student Government Chambers of the University Center. The session will cover the benefits of on-campus employment, provide application tips, and share resources for after you're hired. Additionally, the Career Development Center will host a session for international students Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2-3 p.m. in the Guadalupe Room of the University Center.

OIT Service Desk in-person support for spring 2025
|
This spring, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Service Desk will offer in-person support to students in the Central Library Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. A temporary pop-up location will open Jan. 13-24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Maverick Activities Center.

Join the UTA Veterans Business Outreach Center at Third Thursday Think Tank Thursday, Jan. 16, 6-7:30 p.m. in Room 635 of the College of Business. This workshop will provide valuable insights from seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts, while offering practical advice to help you start your entrepreneurial journey. The UT Arlington Police Department has achieved reaccreditation through the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA). This marks the agency’s fifth reaccreditation award since becoming accredited through IACLEA in 2010.

The Genspiration Prize recognizes exceptional participants in the Student Showcase, which is hosted by the National Academy of Inventors and allows students to present their innovations to inventors, university leaders, industry leaders, and inventive institutions. Genspiration Prize Recipients receive $5,000 to help develop their innovations. You may apply individually or as part of a team by Tuesday, Feb. 11
