Week 7:Testivus for the rest of us edition.
Swab, lock, and drop it.
While some say that time heals all wounds (we’re still waiting, 2020!), we’ve learned that time is of the essence when it comes to processing completed test kits. Be sure to 1) swab, 2) tightly close the cap, and 3) place your sample in the drop-off bins within 72 hours.
Swipe the leg, Johnny.
No mercy, yes IDs. Starting next week, new vending machines that require student IDs to receive a test kit will be deployed in the School of Medicine, Campus Services complex, and Revelle College. Current machines will also require IDs in the coming weeks, so be sure to get a new card if you need one.

Wait, there are tests in vending machines?
If the previous three items made your head spin like a Weeknd meme, either a) you need a tutorial on COVID-test vending machines; or b) you’re reading this in February of LAST year. In either case, consider yourself lucky! Here’s a comprehensive how-to video on completing self-administered tests.
We get it, Vid happens.
Tritons, we know that we ask a lot of you, and that you consistently deliver. Take testing, for example — most of you made the switch from bi-weekly to weekly testing this quarter without a hitch. We understand that testing compliance is fluid, and it’s easier some weeks than others to fit a test into your busy schedule. Here’s a thought:
Need a rest? Take a test.
Taking regular breaks — from studying, working, TA-ing, anything — can be restorative and improve performance upon your return. If you use a 15-minute respite to complete your self-administered test, you’ll do yourself — and your community via the Tritons Care for Tritons Initiative — a world of good.
