Michigan Interfaith Convening On Language
|
This week, we are hosting 23 interfaith leaders from across the state of Michigan for a conversation on the interfaith vernacular. The terms we use carry with them distinct connotations, denotations, and biases that all play a part in enhancing or inhibiting spaces of belonging. During this convening, we will work together to identify the barriers and opportunities of language as we work towards a shared and effective vernacular for the future of the movement.
This convening is made possible by the generous support of the Fetzer Institute.

| Interfaith Photovoice Exhibit a Huge Success!
|
A huge thank you to all of you who showed up to support our students during the "Believing and Belonging on Campus" exhibitions last week! Updates regarding future opportunities to engage with this profound exhibit will be posted on this website as they become available.
Through their photos, the students of this cohort explored and gave voice to their practices, their communities of comfort, their internal struggles, the barriers to belonging they experience, and their sources of support, both on campus and off. Read more about the project in this GVNext article.

| Interfaith Insight: Can We Reject Fear and Find Hope in Spite of the Evidence?
|
In 2016, eight years ago and an election year, we faced division not only in our country but also in the Mideast. It was hard to find common ground, and yet, the Kaufman Interfaith Institute sponsored a discussion between a rabbi and an imam. This Insight from that year was written about rejecting fear and finding hope, and quoted M.L King’s Nobel Prize address. It is relevant today.
