A Message from the City Manager

One of the aspects we value about our role as a City is the opportunity to hear from community members; listening to your ideas, feelings and about what you want our city to look like 5, 10, 20 years from now and even beyond. In late March, City Council held its first community forum of the year to talk about the big-picture questions that will guide our community's future. Learn more about what we heard and save the date for our next forum on Monday, June 12.

Economic Boost Coming to Fourth Plain, Downtown

Fourth Plain for All and Main Street Promise projects
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is a $1.9 trillion federal stimulus bill to speed up the country’s recovery from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We're planning to invest the City's $32.5 million in ARPA funding in the Fourth Plain area (between I-5 and I-205) and downtown's Main Street corridor. A majority of these funds will be spent on Fourth Plain in response to the community’s long-standing economic and health disparities made worse by the pandemic. We need your ideas for how to best uplift and strengthen these neighborhoods, businesses and individuals. Keep an eye out for signs inviting the community to chat with the City about your hopes for the area via text message.

911 Nurse Navigation Program to Enhance Emergency Response for Clark County

While 911 should only be used for urgent, life-threatening or potentially life-threatening emergencies, approximately 14,000 of Clark County’s 58,000 medical-related 911 calls each year are considered non-emergent. Starting May 16, Clark County community members who call 911 with a non-life-threatening emergency will be transferred to an experienced Nurse Navigator to determine together an appropriate path for treatment and assistance in coordinating care at the right time and at the right place.
