Throughout the week, Mavericks will deck the UTA campus in blue, orange, and white for an unforgettable Homecoming celebration. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the rest of the Maverick community will have a chance to showcase their Maverick spirit during Homecoming events, including MavSwap, the Chili Cook-Off, and the Street Festival.

Homecoming queen and king will be announced during halftime of the men's basketball game Saturday, Nov. 9. Tip-off will be at 5 p.m. for the final sporting event of Homecoming Week, with the doors opening at 4 p.m. The first 500 fans to arrive at College Park Center will receive UTA pom-poms. Students, plus an additional guest, will be admitted for free.

Your UTA Lady Mavs will take on Arlington Baptist University in their first home game of the season Thursday, Nov. 7, with a 6:30 tip-off. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The first 300 fans to arrive at College Park Center will receive an exclusive Homecoming T-shirt and poster schedules. Students, plus an additional guest, will be admitted for free.

Don’t miss the ultimate concert experience at Homecoming Bash Friday, Nov. 8, 8 p.m.-12 a.m. at Texas Hall. That Mexican OT, Travis Porter, and DRODi will be performing. Purchase tickets.

5K Run/Walk/Roll

On Saturday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., UTA’s annual Homecoming 5K will take a scenic route throughout the UTA campus. The 5K is open to UTA students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Sign up today.

Get ready to experience an unforgettable night at the UTA National Pan-Hellenic Council Homecoming Step Show Saturday, Nov. 9, with a 7 p.m. showtime in the Bluebonnet Ballroom of the University Center. Come watch as our talented fraternities and sororities take you on a nostalgic journey, delivering dynamic step routines inspired by the music, fashion, and culture of the 1990s. Purchase tickets.

Come see your first-place Maverick volleyball team in the final regular season home match at College Park Center Saturday, Nov. 9, 11 a.m. Senior volleyball players will be recognized prior to the match. Following the volleyball game, the Homecoming tailgate will be held in front of College Park Center, occupying tailgate spots in Lot 13, the Green at College Park, and Moritz Plaza.

On The Town

UTA’s Department of Theatre Arts and Dance presents On the Town, music by Leonard Bernstein, book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, based on an idea by Jerome Robbins. The show runs for six performances in UTA’s Mainstage Theatre from Nov. 6-9 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances on Nov. 9-10 at 2 p.m. Purchase tickets.

Complete your graduate profile in Marching Order

Attention graduating seniors: Now that you’ve applied to graduate this December, remember to log into Marching Order—UTA’s commencement support system—to create and finalize your graduate profile by Monday, Nov. 18. Marching Order is where you go to:

  • Upload your photo to display on the big screen as you cross the stage
  • Confirm the spelling and correct pronunciation of your name
  • Recognize faculty and staff members who have positively impacted your journey at UTA
  • Ask for commencement day accommodations
  • Request up to 20 guest tickets
Indigenous Peoples Day 2024

Native American Heritage Month

The Native American Student Association will host a series of events to celebrate Native American Heritage Month throughout November. There will be a lunch and learn Monday, Nov. 11, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Carlisle Suite of the University Center. A panel discussion will focus on how UTA and other institutions can create kinship relationships that can lead to true reciprocity for Indigenous people and communities.

WAC Volleyball Tournament, students get in for free

WAC Volleyball Tournament

The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Tournament is coming to College Park Center Nov. 21-23. Come see the top-ranked UTA volleyball team and the rest of the WAC battle it out for a championship.

The Department of Global Engagement and the Office of International Education are honoring International Education Week Nov. 18-22 by hosting a variety of events on campus, including the See the Unseen Photo Gallery Exhibition, the International Food Fair, and more. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to this year's annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 5-8 p.m. at the Connections Cafe. One meal plan swipe can be used to enter. Those without a meal plan will pay $10.89 (plus tax) at the door.

The search for the dean of CONHI

The search committee for the new dean of the College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) met last week to launch the search, discuss the schedule and timeline, and finalize the dean’s position profile. You can share the position profile with individuals you believe would be well-positioned to lead CONHI. You can also suggest potential candidates to the search team.
