The Office of Community Standards is hosting Final Exam Prep Week. Attend to receive free supplies, tips, and treats to get ready for finals. Today, Tuesday, April 23, and tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, there will be free final exam survival kits, and Thursday, April 25, there will be free snow cones in the University Center Mall.

FAFSA priority deadline extended

The UTA men’s tennis team secured its second consecutive championship in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament with its 4-3 victory over Grand Canyon University. The Mavericks will face their first round opponent in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament on Friday, May 3, in the NCAA Regionals. Visit utamavs.com for more information.

Department of Modern Languages Open House
|
Attend an open house for the Department of Modern Languages (MODL) tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. in Trimble Hall to explore language courses and discover career avenues linked to language and culture. You can also learn more about MODL’s new minor in American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Studies. While there are universities in North Texas that offer deaf education, ASL interpreting, and linguistics programs, UTA's new minor is the first of its kind in the greater DFW area.

The South Bridge will remain closed for ongoing revitalization efforts until tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, at 6 a.m. The North Bridge is open for use, and the Central Bridge will continue to be available throughout the project.

Graduating class of 2024, save the date for Celebrando el Éxito, an event that is open to all students. Come out for a night of recognition, excitement, and fun with friends and family on Saturday, May 4. Register by Friday, April 26, to participate. The first 250 students will be guaranteed a free graduation stole. If you are not graduating, you are still encouraged to attend, and there is no need to register.

Send a picture of your decorated cap to socialmedia@uta.edu to enter the Grad Cap Contest. You can also submit a picture of a spring 2024 graduating UTA Maverick to the Grad Photo Contest and the Grad Photo Raffle. Photo submissions are due by Friday, April 26.

Don’t miss the MavGrad Celebration, a fun, family-friendly, free event where UTA’s graduating students can celebrate with their friends and family. Come to Brazos Park on Thursday, May 9, at 6 p.m. for food, drinks, music by The Inspiration Band, photo opportunities, and festive activities. The graduating class of 2024 will be recognized with a celebratory toast, and graduating students can stop by the Alumni Relations table to receive their first UTA alumni T-shirt while supplies last.

The Office of Sustainability is advancing the Campus Master Plan and the Energy Transition and Resilience Plan. You can provide feedback on the goals outlined in both plans at an open house event Tuesday, April 30, 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Red River and Concho rooms in the University Center. Take the Energy Transition and Resilience Plan Survey to communicate your priorities as they relate to sustainability, resilience, and climate action measures.

Camp Arlington at UTA is offering a summer day camp to children ages 3-5 and to those entering first through fifth grade. Kidventure’s camp curriculum will include athletics, art, team building, rock climbing, archery, field trips, special guests, yoga, and fine and gross motor skills. The tuition cost for each week of camp is $340 with discounts for two or more children in the same family, UTA faculty members, and AISD teachers. Register for camp now.
