|
A job and internship fair for all majors will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1-3 p.m. virtually. It will be open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, and alumni seeking full-time positions, part-time jobs, internships, and field placements. Dress professionally and prepare an updated electronic copy of your resume to share.

| Eliminate Tobacco Use Day
|
UT System is hosting another Eliminate Tobacco Use Day Thursday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. in Palo Duro Lounge of the University Center. The event is a tobacco-free celebration with giveaways, T-shirts, barbecue, and interactive activities about resources and current trends. The first 400 participants will receive free barbecue and T-shirts.

There will be an opportunity to recycle electronics Thursday, Nov. 16, 11 a.m- 2 p.m. at the University Center Mall. E-waste includes printer cartridges, batteries, and cellphones. See a full list of eligible items.

Students who demonstrate financial need and cannot afford their cap and gown are encouraged to email EAF@UTA.EDU to inquire if caps and gowns are available to rent for the graduation ceremony. Cap and gown rentals are available based on donations received.

Enrolled UTA students enjoy complimentary admission to all UTA Athletics volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball events. Bring your active UTA ID to College Park Center's Gate 1, located at the corner of Spaniolo Drive and 3rd Street. UTA students may also gain complimentary admission for one friend per game. 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

UTA is joining the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Mavericks, the Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies program encourages you to participate in the global campaign by sending in a short video or written testimonial. In your message, first state a specific form of violence against women, such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, or cyberbullying. Then propose an action that can contribute to its elimination. Send your video or text message to dustinh@uta.edu and roshan.mashal@uta.edu by Monday, Nov. 20. Organizers will compile the messages into a powerful montage and share it across social media channels.

In honor of America Recycles Day, Friday, Nov. 17, The Office of Sustainability has organized a tour of the Material Recovery Facility. Attendees will meet at the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs. Transportation (provided by the Office of Sustainability) will leave UTA at 9 a.m. The tour will be an opportunity to see where recyclable material goes and learn the recycling process. UTA's annual campus-wide Thanksgiving Dinner is just around the corner! Hosted by UTA Dining and the Office of International Education's Department of Global Engagement, the dinner will take place Tuesday, Nov. 21, 5-8 p.m. Students on a meal plan will be able to attend for free. Students without a meal plan, faculty, and staff can purchase tickets for $9.89 at the door.

The Department of Art and Art History is pleased to announce its Holiday Glass Art Sale and Fundraiser. Faculty, staff, and students can be among the first to explore and purchase pieces Friday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The general public sale will be Saturday, Dec. 9, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sale funds support UTA’s talented students, while also contributing to the advancement of the Department of Art and Art History.
