COLLEGE AND CAREER PLANNING
Senior Transcripts All final transcripts will be sent electronically via Maia Learning starting in mid-June. Please make sure your student requests their transcript by June 1 in Maia Learning. Students who have taken college credit courses through St. Louis University or DMACC can request their transcripts utilizing their Social Security number and birthdate. *They do not need to know their student id.* Students must request those transcripts directly from the college. To request St. Louis University, DMACC, and Loras Transcripts, search each school's name on the National Clearinghouse transcript site. Cost is $5 per transcript. *Please note: request St. Louis University and DMACC transcripts after June 20th to ensure final grades have been submitted. If a transcript is ordered without a grade, the student must reorder. The list of all DMACC and St. Louis University courses offered at DCHS this year have been provided.
Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines Scholarship season is underway for seniors with many deadlines approaching. View the ICAN scholarship database for a list of scholarships your student may be eligible for.
ACT The ACT is changing starting in September! Students will see a shorter, updated format with an optional science section, allowing for greater flexibility while maintaining the accuracy and reliability colleges rely on. The composite score will focus on English, math, and reading, while science scores will be reported separately for those who take it.
Junior Achievement Workshop On July 16th, Junior Achievement is hosting a Rising Women Workshop. Open to 50 female students, ages 14-21, participants will experience presentations and activities surrounding important topics, such as leadership skills, career-readiness, and goal-setting.
Drake Healthcare Opportunity Drake College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers a unique opportunity for high school students and recent graduates to explore health professions. The BullD.O.G.S. in Healthcare Overnight Experience will take place July 10-12 on the Drake campus. Learn more here.
Scholarship for Youth Caddies The Evans Scholarship is a full-tuition and housing college scholarship for youth caddies. Wakonda and the WGA are partnering with area schools to connect high-achieving (and need-based) students with summer caddying jobs. A program overview is available here.

AUG 4: 47th Annual Dowling Catholic Golf Outing Save the date and join us at Terrace Hills Golf Course for the 47th Annual DCHS Golf Outing! Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are now open! Learn more here. Reservations for DCHS family and friends will open mid-to-late June.
OCT 24: 64th Annual Pancake Breakfast Save the date for this time-honored tradition! We are looking for volunteers to join our team! A special thanks to Jen and Paul Damge who have chaired the breakfast since 2018. This will be their last year and we are seeking at least one couple to take their place as event co-chairs. Obligation includes 4-5 committee planning meetings (30 minutes each, September - October). The chairs assist with overseeing supply inventory and needs, set up/take down of griddle lines, and supervising volunteers in the kitchen and on the griddle lines. In 2025, work alongside the Damges to learn the ropes before taking over as chairs in 2026. Please contact Bonnie Bronson if you are interested or with questions.
