Plus: Sac State student, paralyzed at 15, finds joy through athletics
Sac State, Sierra College presidents make Placer partnership official |
Sacramento State President Luke Wood and Sierra College Superintendent/President Willy Duncan on June 28 signed an agreement cementing a "momentous partnership" to create a new hub of learning in one of California's fastest-growing regions.
The two institutions will collaborate on Sacramento State Placer, a satellite campus in Placer County that will create seamless pathways to higher education. The campus will serve as a co-location site for Sac State and Sierra College with dual admission, concurrent enrollment, shared financial aid, combined counseling and other support services.
“We are building a ‘communiversity’ model here of concurrent enrollment that will be a game changer for educational attainment in this region,” Wood said. “Ultimately our goal isn’t to just enroll students, but it’s to graduate students with the ability to create better lives for themselves and their families.”
