APPROPRIATIONS UPDATE
The Senate is moving forward with FY25 markups in hopes of advancing its 12 funding bills by the end of the summer. Next week, the full Senate is expected to take up the Commerce-Justice-Science, Interior-Environment, Transportation-HUD and State-Foreign Operations. Senators have already approved Military Construction-Veteran Affairs, Legislative Branch and Agriculture-FDA bills. The House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) held a press conference last week on moving all 12 Fiscal Year 2025 bills through the markup phase. House lawmakers have until Monday to file amendments to Republican's Labor-HHS-Education and Transportation-HUD bills. The House is expected to take up those bills plus the Commerce-Justice-Science measure the week of July 29.
