Retire Meant: McKenzie River KKNU/Eugene, OR PD Jim Davis is retiring July 31 after a 50-year radio career, 31 of those with KKNU. McKenzie River Dir./Programming & Operations and sister AC KMGE PD Jeff Baird will assume KKNU programming. Davis says, "It has been a wild ride! A very surreal life. A life made possible by so many brilliant teachers and mentors, as well as owners, GMs, PDs, teammates, friends and family who gave me their time, knowledge, patience and support needed to survive and thrive this half century." Grand Canyon: Radio veteran and former
WZZK/Birmingham PD/afternoon personality Lance Tidwell has joined Stone Canyon Media as Associate GM for its four-station Northern Arizona cluster, which includes KSED/Flagstaff. Tidwell departed WZZK and stepped away from radio in 2021 (CAT 11/30/21) following a 30-year career that included jobs in Detroit, Kansas City, Seattle, Boise and Memphis, and leadership positions with Citadel, Entercom and iHeartMedia, where he served as SVP. Amarillo By Afternoon: National Radio Hall of Fame and Country Radio Hall of Fame member Blair Garner has joined Connoisseur KGNC/Amarillo, TX in afternoons. He has moved to Amarillo, and succeeds part-timer Zain Jackson in the daypart. "We're thrilled to have a personality of Blair's caliber joining our staff at KGNC," says OM Jeff Scott. "He grew up in the area, he's a true pro and a perfect fit for us."
Garner hosted the Westwood One syndicated The Blair Garner Show until 2020, when he opened Columbia, TN concert and event venue The Mulehouse (CAT 7/13/20).

Jimmy Wilson, who has hosted the WULF morning show for three years, is co-hosting for now, but will move to an unspecified new daypart in the coming weeks. Prior to WKMO, Milby spent 14 years with Skytower's AC WQXE as morning co-host. |

Natural State: KSSN/Little Rock PD/midday personality Jess Jennings was named Radio DJ of the Year and KDXY/Jonesboro won Station at the Arkansas Country Music Awards last night (6/1) in Conway.
