FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR PROGRAM APPLICATIONS OPEN

Application deadline is Monday, September 15, 2025 at 5 p.m. EDT.

Great news – the 2026-2027 U.S. Scholars program is now open to all faculty members. Applications are currently being accepted for both the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program and the Fulbright International Education Administrators Awards.

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 awards in more than 135 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out professional projects around the world. College and university faculty, as well as artists and professionals from a wide range of fields can join over 400,000 Fulbrighters who have come away with enhanced skills, new connections, and greater mutual understanding.

More Information

The Fulbright International Education Administrators Awards are two-week funded seminars for U.S. higher education administrators to learn about participating countries’ higher education systems, exchange information on best practices, explore the potential for partnerships with institutions of higher education in the host country, and raise the profile of your home institution within the host country and the U.S. participant cohort. By participating in a Fulbright IEA seminar, you can build your institution’s capacity for international education, gain a cross-cultural perspective, and open doors to collaboration with colleagues and students throughout the world.

More Information

For information on either of these programs, please contact Dr John Donnellan, NJCU's Fulbright Liaison and Fulbright Alumni Campus Coordinator at jdonnellan@njcu.edu.

COUNSELING CENTER

Ask. Listen. Refer.

Ask. Listen. Refer. is an online suicide prevention training designed to give you the skills to recognize signs of suicide and have a conversation with someone you are concerned about. As we continue to dedicate ourselves to increasing mental health awareness, and suicide prevention efforts, this training is essential for all of our offices. It will take about 15-20 minutes and has very valuable information.

Ask. Listen. Refer. is designed to help faculty, staff, and students prevent suicide by teaching them to:

  • identify people at risk for suicide
  • recognize the risk factors, protective factors, and warning signs of suicide
  • respond to and get help for someone in need

Ask. Listen. Refer. provides a certificate of completion, and also includes a pre and post-test. If you need proof of completion, please connect with me, as I will be able to track its participants. This interactive online suicide prevention program has been shown to increase the ability of students to recognize and respond to peers at risk for suicide.

This is an excellent, convenient program that is a great resource for our division and the campus.
