Upcoming theatre performances

UTA’s Department of Theatre Arts and Dance presents Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, the 2012 electropop opera by writer/composer, Dave Malloy, based on Leo Tolstoy’s novel War and Peace. The show runs for six performances in UTA’s Studio Theatre from Feb. 26 – March 2. Purchase tickets.

If you know students who have a passion for design and an eye for fashion, encourage them to submit a commemorative tartan design to the Tartan Design Competition. The winning designer will receive a $1,000 scholarship and have their design featured on University merchandise sold in the UTA Bookstore. The deadline to enter is by Friday, Feb. 28.

The English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPA) is now available to international teaching assistants who have not met UTA’s language requirements for graduate teaching assistants. Graduate students who have been recommended by their graduate advisor to take the ELPA can apply now. Interviews will take place March 3-7.

UTA’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) offers free website hosting for faculty with web publishing support. Benefits include UTA-branded subdomain, various hosting options (WordPress, custom code), backend support (TLS certificates, domains), content assistance, and accessible templates. OIT can also provide podcast, SharePoint, and Google Workspace hosting and support. Learn more.

CO-CV-PR-16 Anti-Idling Procedure
This procedure was reviewed as part of a routine five-year review. The paragraph on the UTA Police Department enforcing idling rules was deleted. In addition, types of vehicles over 14,000 pounds GVWR were deleted from the procedure and added to the definitions section. Grammatical corrections were made to provide clarity and department names were updated.
EI-PO-03 Child Protection Policy
This policy was updated as part of a routine periodic review. Minor grammatical corrections were made to provide clarity.
HR-B-PO-10 Employee Dependent Scholarship Policy
This new policy was put in place at the request of the president. It creates a new benefit for UTA employees and allows $500 per semester scholarships for UTA employee dependents pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
HR-B-PR-06 Employee Dependent Scholarship Procedure
This new procedure was added to provide an overview of the responsibilities and procedural steps to provide scholarships to dependents of UTA in support of HR-B-PO-10 Employee Dependent Scholarship Policy.
HR-E-PO-04 Reduction in Force and Reorganization Policy
The definition “Classified UTA Employee” was deleted and a new definition for “Employee” was added. The new definition includes all full-time classified and academic professional employees.
RA-PR-04 Procedure on Grant and Contract Suspensions, Pauses, Stop Work Orders, Cancellations, Terminations, and Non-Cancellable Commitments
This new procedure was put in place to provide guidelines for managing suspensions, pauses, stop work orders, cancellations, and terminations for grants and contracts, and procedures for calculating non-cancelable commitments to ensure financial responsibility and compliance.
