🔥 Holiday Fire Safety Checklist 🔥

 

1. Heating Equipment & Space Heaters

  • Keep at least 3 feet of clearance from anything that can burn: curtains, bedding, furniture.
  • Plug directly into a wall outlet—never into a power strip.
  • Turn off when leaving the room or going to sleep.

2. Fireplaces & Wood Stoves

  • Have chimneys cleaned yearly to remove creosote buildup.
  • Use a fireplace screen to stop sparks.
  • Store cooled ashes in a metal container with a lid, outside and away from the home.

3. Furnaces & Boilers

  • Have heating systems inspected annually by a qualified technician.
  • Replace or clean filters regularly.

🕯️ Holiday & Candle Safety 🕯️

  • Keep candles at least 1 foot away from anything that can burn.
  • Use sturdy, non-tip candle holders.
  • Never leave candles unattended; consider switching to LED flameless candles.
  • Keep Christmas trees hydrated; dry trees ignite easily
