Loyola University Chicago is preparing to welcome approximately 5,000 student Ramblers, including 3,000 first-year students to their campus homes during Fall Move-In, taking place August 14-20, 2026. Loyola's Campus Safety, Community Relations, and Residence Life teams work closely together to create a safe, organized, and seamless move-in experience for students, families, neighbors, and the broader community.

The enclosed letter outlines specific move-in dates, temporary parking restrictions, and traffic considerations that may affect nearby residents. We encourage neighbors to review these details and visit our Move-In website for the latest information and updates.  MORE

Community members still have time to participate in Alderwoman Maria Hadden's community feedback survey regarding Loyola University Chicago's proposal to partner with the Ignatian Mission Center on a transformative redevelopment project at the St. Ignatius Church site.

The proposal includes construction of a new five-story student apartment building alongside the preservation and adaptive reuse of St. Ignatius Church and Rectory. The vision for the preserved structures includes transitional housing for survivors of domestic violence, a childcare facility, a choice food pantry, and other mission-driven community services designed to support local residents.

Neighbors are encouraged to complete Alderwoman Hadden's community feedback survey and share their perspectives on the proposal.

Loyola University Chicago and the Rogers Park Business Alliance invite neighbors, students, and visitors to join us for the final First Friday Music Series event of the season on Friday, September 4.

Enjoy an evening of live music, local dining, and community gathering along Sheridan Road between Loyola and Pratt. Performances will take place at Sister Jean Plaza near the Loyola Red Line station and at participating local businesses throughout the corridor.

Loyola University Chicago is proud to serve as a sponsor and participating community partner at the 2026 Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest (GAAF), taking place August 14-16, 2026, in the heart of Rogers Park.

A beloved neighborhood tradition, the Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest showcases the creativity and diversity of Chicago's vibrant arts community. Festival attendees can explore and purchase artwork from more than 130 local and visiting artists, representing a wide range of artistic styles and mediums, from traditional woodworking and ceramics to digital illustration and innovative mixed-media creations.

In addition to the artist marketplace, visitors can enjoy more than two dozen live music and dance performances, live art demonstrations, open artist studios, and hands-on activities for children and families.

Be sure to stop by Loyola's table to connect with university representatives, learn more about Loyola's community partnerships and neighborhood initiatives, and join us in celebrating the arts, creativity, and culture that make Rogers Park such a special place.

Loyola Community Relations at the 49th Ward Back to School Picnic

Grateful to have joined Alderwoman Maria Hadden and our Rogers Park neighbors on August 8 at Willye B. White Park for the 49th Ward Back to School Picnic. Our team was on hand with giveaways for local families including folders, crayons, stickers, toys, and coloring sheets, to help get kids ready for a great school year. 

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to the whole community for making this event so special. We are proud to walk along side our neighbors as we prepare for the year ahead.
