Celebrating Your Advent Generosity
It takes $27,000 ($9,000/year) to support 60-100 orphaned youth and children in a three-year empowerment program through Zoe Empowers.
Thanks to your generous Advent gifts, we can partner with one and a half more groups in Rwanda and Zimbabwe so they can start their journey out of extreme poverty and transform their lives – from “Beggars to Bosses” type of wholistic transformation!
At the end of the three-year program, the children achieve stable housing, food security, improved health, education, financial independence, and better social and spiritual connections. So, thank you!
St. Luke's Celebrates Hearts to Hands
If you attended St. Luke’s musical Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr. in December, you not only got to experience a wonderful youth Christmas production, but you also saw some of the Hearts to Hands Care Ministry’s fine winter creations on full display.
The ministry was honored to be asked to help with the costuming of the actors. Several ladies from the group made beautiful hats and scarves as well as a beard for Yukon Cornelius for the production.
Special thanks to Ena Joseph, Cindy Schneider, Laurie Wedewer, Carol Jenkins, Theresa Sutherlin, Jody Little, Lynne Hamner, Maryke Lee, Sharon Huggett, Marietta Bear, Pat Redmond, Audrey Rhoades, Shirley Blichfeldt, Jill Alterman and Darby Turnipseed for all their hard work.
Above is a photo courtesy of photographer Howard Clifton of the actors in their beautiful winter attire.
Want to learn how to knit or crochet in 2023? Join Hearts to Hands on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Barnes Learning Center, Room 210. All ages and experience levels are welcome!
