We are so grateful - for you! |
As we all take a break from campus for a week, we at the Hub just want to say how grateful we are for the hard work you have done this semester, and every semester. Showing up for our students and for each other with care and thoughtfulness demands a lot! We hope you are able to rest at least a little and reconnect with what gives you energy to tackle the end of the semester. If you want, here are some example mindfulness exercises you can explore to connect with a sense of rest and gratitude as well.

-
Gratitude Meditation "This exercise draws on a guided meditation created by Dr. Kathi Kemper, executive director of the Ohio State University College of Medicine’s Center for Integrative Health and Wellness." - 10 minutes
-
Awe Outing, I was introduced to the idea of an Awe Walk or Awe Outing at a conference I attended last week - it was lovely! Allow yourself to get lost in the vastness of the environment around you. - 15 minutes
-
Does Mindfulness Belong in Higher Education? An Eight Year Research of Students' Experiences - In case you were thinking of adding a practice like this to your class, but want to see the data that connects mindfulness to students' learning, take a look at this longitudinal study.

The Foundations program and the HUB are excited to announce that Dave Cormier will give a keynote address on the use of Generative AI like ChatGPT in our pedagogy.
The event will take place in CB 1030 on Nov 29th, from 4-5pm. This is an in-person event!
The talk will be about 40min and then we'll have time for questions.
Whether you are skeptical of GenAI, or intrigued, this should be a great talk. I have no doubts that you'll leave the keynote having learned something important about how to use (or not use) GenAI in your pedagogy.

| ICYMI: Recording available from Dr. Price Event |
Our campus was so lucky to host Dr. Margaret Price for two events (one virtual, on in person) titled "Re-imagining access as a relational process." The recording of the event and the associated handout are available on our blog.
