march 2025
March 1 A great way to start the month of February would be to pray for President Rich. He carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Pray for God's provision in every way for President Scott Rich.

Scripture focus: I John 3:18 "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."

Pray for the seniors who are applying for graduate school, that God’s plan will be revealed to them.

Each day on campus, letters, packages and parcels get delivered for Brian Foster, mailroom supervisor, and his team to deliver. Say a prayer of thanks for his service.

Pray for leaders and students on upcoming mission trips. Ask God that He will provide the finances, strength, and teamwork required to put together a successful and impactful trip.

Pray that our students, faculty, and staff hold fast to the joy given to us by our Lord so that we may continue to share His unconditional love with those around us.

This evening is the President's Circle Dinner. Thank the Lord for all those who faithfully and generously support the work and mission of Sterling College.

Parker Smith, member of the Board of Trustees and class of 1966 celebrates his birthday today. Happy birthday, Parker! May the Lord deeply and richly bless you.

Scripture focus: I John 4:9 "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him."

Praise God for our sports information director, Taya Wilson, and the long hours she puts in to highlight the accomplishments of student-athletes for God’s glory.

Pray for Vicky Kirchoff, Physical Plant Office Manager. Vicky has faithfully served Sterling College for decades. Pray for the Lord's mighty blessings in her life.

Pray for Brandon Winn, new Director of Physical Plant. Brandon, class of 1999, recently began this role serving his alma mater. Pray for Brandon and his entire team as they work tirelessly to serve every area of campus.

Today the men's and women's tennis teams take on the Tabor Bluejays. Pray that their performance and behavior represent Sterling College and the Lord well.

Pray that our coaches will have wisdom and discernment as they recruit student-athletes to this campus, trusting that the student-athletes’ lives will be positivily impacted at Sterling.

Pray for students that are in dating relationships, that they will put their identity in Christ and glorify God with the way they relate to one another.

Scripture focus: Matthew 22: 37-39 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself."

Spring Break is this week. Pray that students will be safe in their travels and make wise, God honoring choices.

Pray for members of the President’s Cabinet who oversee all departments and personnel on campus. Pray that they would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and that their decisions would be made with the wisdom of God.

Lift up a special prayer for students who are dealing with tough situations at home. It can be difficult to focus on the things that need to be taken care of at school when you are worried about what is going on at home. Pray that the Lord would give peace where there is uncertainty, hope where the situation looks bleak, and trust in God’s plan over everything else.

Give thanks to God for creating the beauty of the earth, which grows ever more apparent with the arrival of Spring.

Pray for Sterling College staff as they enjoy Spring Breather, a day of rest. Pray they would be blessed in this time and come back renewed to finish the semester well.

Women's softball and men's baseball both compete today. Pray for all the student-athletes and coaches to honor the Lord.

Scripture focus: I John 4:18 "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

Praise the Lord for His unending mercy.

Pray that the Lord will provide the financial needs of the college through generous donors and the right number of students choosing to attend SC.

This time of year, students often begin to lose motivation. Pray for endurance and motivation to finish this school year strong.

We are grateful for all the ways God reveals Himself through His Work, creation, friendships and situations. Pray that we all would be sensitive to His voice in those small but powerful moments.

Today is the Faith and Learning Conference on campus as well as a campus visitation day focusing primarily on prospective Legacy students. Pray that both events are very successful, good for the college, and honoring to the Lord.

Ask God to provide clarity of mind and direction for our faculty as they prepare for the rest of the semester and begin plans for summer projects and plans.

Scripture focus: Romans 13: 9-10 "The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."

Praise God for our athletic trainers who work diligently to keep our athletes healthy.

-25 Verse of the Year:  I Corinthians 15:58 "So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (NLT)
