Illinois' fiscal health

A new report on the fiscal health of the Illinois state government from the University of Illinois System’s Institute of Government and Public Affairs examines three key issues: state tax data complexity due to re-categorization of individual and corporate income tax revenues, potential long-term state sales tax decline and federal Medicaid financing changes affecting provider tax revenues received by the state. Report co-author David Merriman, James J. Stukel Presidential Professor of Public Policy, Management, and Analytics at UIC, can discuss the findings and possible implications.
