Understanding Your Values |
Values are the foundational beliefs we hold and use to guide our actions and determine our motivations. From a career lens, knowing our values can help us consider the type of career, work environment, and people we want to surround ourselves with.
Ideally, you’re looking to find a career path that allows you to live in alignment with your values, because that’s where you’ll have cohesion. Values can include anything important to you, such as time, money, being near family, prestige, protecting the environment, etc. If you don’t prioritize values in your career search, you risk working at a job or in an industry where you don’t feel satisfied or fulfilled.
