Long-time St. Luker and dedicated volunteer Connie Shreiner passed away on June 29, 2022.
She had been a partner with St. Luke's since 1992.
Connie was an essential part of the United Women in Faith (formally United Methodist Women) and the Sarah Circle. She would always lend a hand to any ministry area that needed her.
A celebration of her life was held on July 9 in the Sanctuary. Please keep her children and all that loved her in your prayers.
St. Luker Jon Oden passed away peacefully on
July 11, 2022.
Jon, his wife Lisa, and daughter Sydney have been partners with St. Luke’s since 2005. Jon was a well-respected attorney and a faithful Communion server and usher.
A service celebrating his life was held on July 16 in the Sanctuary. Please keep his family, especially Lisa and Sydney in your prayers.
We mourn the death of long-time St. Luker Doris Cook who passed away on July 13, 2022.
Doris was known for her sharp wit and willingness to serve faithfully for many years. She has been a St. Luke's partner since 1994.
In addition to being an active member of our senior ministry, she was involved with our Educational IMPACT program and the Shepherd’s Hope healthcare ministry.
A service for Doris will be held on August 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Please keep all those who loved Doris lifted in prayer.

St. Luke’s celebrates the many volunteer mechanics who give their time and talent to keep families on the road!
On July 30, we changed oil, topped fluids, inflated tires, and helped families from Maxey Elementary School, Restoring Hope, and Circles, as well as congregation members!
We are grateful for the talented home mechanics from the congregation, Lockheed Martin, and Universal Studios for helping families stay safe on the road.
The Child Development Center and Children's Ministry completed a successful summer of camps.
Children were able to participate in a variety of activities and families received safe, affordable care in a loving and worshipful environment.
The children made new friends, created works of art, played games, and learned about God's love and kindness.
The featured Staff Shout Out goes to the
Director of Missions, Amy Winslow
Amy is an outstanding missions director and has tremendously supported so many who have volunteered through St. Luke’s many mission outreach programs, including the Inside Out Jail Ministry, Restoring Hope Initiative, Jobs Partnership, and the St. Luke’s Community Garden!
Most recently volunteer Salley Martin spearheaded an outreach initiative to support Ukraine! Amy put her in touch with a priest of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Apopka. With generous donations and volunteer support from the United Women in Faith (formally United Methodist Women), 36 hygiene kits were assembled to be sent to those in need in Ukraine.
Amy also led an intergenerational group on a trip to Washington DC to participate in a Bread for the World lobbying effort to support countries suffering food insecurity.
Amy is truly an inspiration and has encouraged Salley among countless others to be involved in purposeful volunteer outreach!
Congratulations Amy!
