KU Medical Center’s Teen Community Advisory Board engages young people to provide feedback and insight on programs that will shape the next generation of health care, research and science professionals. Twelve high school students from across the state meet virtually each month. The application cycle is open March 1 through April 10.

The IRIS in Action Insight Series is a quarterly discussion for professionals working to strengthen referral practices and collaboration across local systems. In this session, school-based staff—often the first to recognize families’ complex needs—share lessons learned in streamlining referral coordination to replace disconnected processes, reduce burdens on families and activate community partnerships that support student and family well-being.

| Join us for Brain Health Days in rural Kansas

Primary care practices across rural Kansas are partnering with the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center’s Cognitive Care Network to bring Brain Health Days to their communities. The events provide free basic cognitive screenings and an opportunity to talk about memory or cognitive concerns in a supportive, stigma-free setting. Appointments can be scheduled through the participating practices below.

The KU Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development (CEPD) have been collaborating with the Kansas Center for Rural Health to create a scholarship and application process designed specifically for rural providers.
