It is with a full heart, deep emotion, and immense gratitude that I share this message with our community. After 50 remarkable years, Teddie Kossof Salon Spa will close its doors on February 15, 2026, as I step into retirement.

When I opened the salon in 1975, I never imagined how profoundly this journey would shape my life. What began as a dream grew into a place filled with laughter, creativity, trust, and lasting relationships. This salon has been far more than a business — it has been a second home, a gathering place, and a constant source of purpose and pride.

To our loyal clients, many of whom I have had the privilege of serving across generations, thank you for your trust, your loyalty, and your friendship. To the extraordinary professionals who stood beside me over the years, sharing their talent, passion, and heart — this story would not exist without you. And to my family and friends, thank you for believing in me, supporting me, and walking this path with me every step of the way.

Giving back has always been close to my heart. I am incredibly proud of the philanthropic and charitable organizations we have supported over the years, and of the role the salon has played in strengthening the community that has given us so much.

When I reflect on legacy, I realize it is not a building or a business — it is my family. My greatest legacy is my four children and five grandchildren. My son Alan and my daughter Keeley continue their work in the beauty industry, and it brings me great pride to see them carry forward the values of hard work, integrity, and care for others. I wish them nothing but the greatest success as they continue their own journeys.

Thank you for allowing me to do what I love for five decades. I leave this chapter with overwhelming gratitude, beautiful memories, and a heart forever connected to this community.

Keeley is redefining the salon experience with her new salon; which will include many of the talented team members from Teddie Kossof Salon. The new salon; Kossof Salon Spa is located in Lincolnshire, IL and will open February 2026.

Alan continues his journey with Solano, the company he and his wife, Sabrina acquired in 2022. They manufacturer high-performance professional hairdryers, Made in Italy.  He also remains connected to the local community through his senior salon management company, Senior Beauty Lifestyle, managing beauty salon services in partnership with senior living on Chicago's North Shore and surrounding suburbs.
