Dear Graduate Students:
My office curates a
weekly list of funding opportunities, mostly external, as well as some employment opportunities, available to graduate students and/or recent graduates (to get you thinking long-term). This is not an exhaustive list, nor do listings necessarily equate with endorsements. We provide this service as a first step in orienting your scholarly eyes toward available funding. We are here to assist you; however, please review each link to ascertain your eligibility before responding to us to request more information. Slow down, get comfortable, and dig in!
New to the "funding thing"? Start here: https://grad.uic.edu/funding-awards/graduate-funding-overview/
Looking for on-campus jobs? Most assistantships are handled through departments. Only a small number of positions are posted here: https://jobs.uic.edu/. (Current students who are UIC employees should click "Employee Login" to open our links; if not currently employed at UIC, use the “External Applicant” log-in.) UIC employees may be eligible for employee tuition waivers. Need help with your materials? Visit Career Services: https://careerservices.uic.edu/.
Below are links to and descriptions of internal and external fellowships and awards. If interested, you'll want to begin the application process quickly. (We do repeat some when we think they are important and obtainable.) For further information on individual listings, including applicable areas of study and eligibility requirements, please reference the numbered items below. The research funded is rather varied, so start with the summary listings before delving into the further details. You might use search functions (Ctrl F) if the list is overwhelming at first glance. International students: you are ineligible for a lot of funding, but don't despair! Note: UIC Global students are NOT eligible for UIC fellowships, awards, or tuition/fee waivers.
Most opportunities listed are due within 1-3 months, so please consult specific deadlines and mark your calendars accordingly!
