The Growler has a new look and starting at the beginning of semester it will be sent every Tuesday during the Fall semester. The Growler provides details on A&M-SA news, events and announcements. Visit our Growler Archive to see past issues.

Volunteer for Move-In Days

We're looking for individuals to assist residents as they move into Esperanza Hall and Estrella Hall.

 

Volunteer opportunities are available both indoors and outdoors. Snacks, drinks, and volunteer T-shirts will be provided throughout the day. Saturday is the largest move-in day, with over 400 students arriving. Limited support is needed for returning students on Friday.

Weeks Of Welcome Volunteer Opportunities 

Please consider volunteering to help make Weeks of Welcome a positive and engaging experience for all returning Jaguars!

 

Volunteer opportunities will be available in one-hour shifts at two booth locations to assist students with any questions on Monday, Aug. 25, and Tuesday, Aug. 26. The Cisneros Institute will provide you with the tools and information to help answer students' questions. 

 

Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt.

Resource Fair Sign-Up

Sign up to volunteer at the Resource Fair. This form is only for University Departments. Submit a separate registration for each department or program that will be participating.

Each department will be provided with one 6-foot table and two chairs. Tables are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ensure your table is fully set up by 10:30 a.m.

Web Accessibility Training

Attend an upcoming Website Accessibility Testing Training session designed to help you understand how to evaluate and test the accessibility of digital content to ensure legal compliance on your website. This training is mandatory for all Cascade users; bring your laptop.

 

This session will include live demonstrations of testing tools, walkthroughs, and testing of common issues, as well as tips for improving accessibility with minimal effort.

A Moment Deferred, a Milestone Honored

A&M–San Antonio’s 7th annual class reunion was especially meaningful this year as some members of the Class of 2020—whose original commencement was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic—finally received their long-awaited walk across the stage. The event—which also welcomed alumni from the Classes of 2015 and 2010—featured a President’s Reception, guided campus tours, lunch in the dining hall, and Class of 2020 Commencement Do-Over in the auditorium.

University Launches Historic First Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership

A&M-San Antonio is enhancing its capacity to cultivate highly skilled professionals for the workforce by introducing its first-ever doctoral program. Beginning in fall 2026, students will be able to earn a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership. This new program equips graduates to address educational disparities and meet the unique needs of school districts across the region and state.
