Senior Night!

Senior night at CAC is a night to honor and recognize our hardworking senior athletes. Each senior gets escorted by their parents, other family members, or guardians with their accomplishments and honors read out. This senior night all fall sports were recognized including volleyball, football, golf, tennis, marching band, and cheer. A few of our senior athletes shared their favorite memories from this season in their sport.

Cooper Bhanks, a football player, said his favorite memory this season was from a 7 on 7 tournament in Fayetteville. Cooper says, “It was fun competing with all the guys and going crazy whenever we’d make a big play. I remember beating some team from Houston and we lost our minds when we scored the game winner with a couple seconds left."

For tennis, Sydney Dare shared her favorite memory from one of the last practices as a full team when the whole team played a big match together at the end. She says, “We all laughed with each other and just had a good time, which was a really nice way to remember the season as a whole, especially since it was one of the last practices with all the seniors.”

For Taylor Spencer, her favorite cheer season memory was from the annual cheer team sleepover. Each year this sleepover falls on the night before the first home football game. Taylor says, “It’s always a great way to get closer with everybody. Hide and seek in the dark kept us up most of the night but it was totally worth being tired the next day!”

Kindle Walker was a member of this year's volleyball team, and she said that her favorite memory started when they were guaranteed No. 1 seed in the state tournament after winning the regional finals. She says, "Being able to make history with these girls is something I will forever be grateful for. The friendships made and being able to represent our school on a big stage has been a highlight of my senior year so far.”

All-Region Choir!

Sophomores Addison Millard and Luke Irwin were some of the students who made All-Region Choir this year at CAC! Addison made 27th chair and Luke made 17th chair. To prepare they each practiced at home as much as they could. Along with at home practice they also practiced a considerable amount of time with the CAC choir director, Dr. Harper. Addison said that “People might think that the auditions are super nerve-wracking but really it's just a fun time to listen to music or practice your songs!” Addison says that she loves to sing and she loves the CAC choir because there are so many different voice types.

Luke, made All-Region for being a Bass 2, which is the lowest vocal part possible! He said that to prepare for his audition he went to Harper Studios which are vocal lessons offered by Dr. Harper. Along with Harper Studios, he also practiced a lot at home and watched YouTube videos to help him match different pitches. Luke says that his favorite part of the CAC choir is that he has learned a lot in singing and has been able to sing higher. He said that when he started Choir he couldn’t sing high notes at all but now he can. He says that he also met his best friend, Connor Mann, through Choir.

Speak Up — Elliot Grant

Elliot Grant, a 7th grader, on Mustang Mountain, loves Halloween. His favorite Halloween tradition is going trick or treating. Elliot says that he likes to trick or treat with his brother and one of his best friends that lives just down the road from him. This year they dressed up as light up stick men together. Elliot's favorite candy is either the blue or green Jolly Ranchers!
