Celebrate the freedom to read; meet geography faculty member Chris Schaney; and more

Wondering about the umbrellas in the Oak Grove? It’s RAINN Day, a show of support for the nation’s leading organization in the fight against sexual violence—the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network. Check out the display and stop at the tables for information.

Stop by the library between 11:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. today to read or listen to excerpts from well-known banned books. Snacks and prizes will be available. This event recognizes the national Banned Books Week, which runs through Saturday.

It was in graduate school when Chris Schaney began exploring geographic information systems and discovered his passion for geography. Since then, he has built a career sharing that passion with students. Learn more about him in this installment of Meet Our Faculty.
