HomeAid Hawaii Dedicates new Kauhale for those Experiencing or at Risk of Homelessness

The tiny home village may look similar to the medical kauhale that was set up next to Washington Place last year, but this one is a larger, permanent site with more amenities.

The kauhale sits on part of a parking lot for the state Department of Transportation. There are 32 units available to house an adult individual or couple. Services include bathrooms, daily meals, a health clinic, 24/7 security, a meeting space, a kitchen area, a computer room, and laundry facilities.

HomeAid Colorado Celebrates 25 Years of Impact at Annual Fundraising Breakfast

HomeAid Colorado recently marked a significant milestone in its journey of service and community impact as it celebrated its 25th anniversary at their annual fundraising breakfast. With nearly 600 esteemed guests and supporters in attendance, the event was a resounding success, reflecting the organization's unwavering commitment to addressing homelessness and providing vital support to those in need.

For a quarter of a century, HomeAid Colorado has been at the forefront of the fight against homelessness, striving to create safe and dignified housing solutions for individuals and families facing housing insecurity. Under the leadership of executive director Cindy Bell and its founding executive director Laura Brayman-McKenna, HomeAid Colorado has completed 37 developments with a value of over $17 million including the facilitation of nearly $7 million in in-kind donations. With these developments, which include both housing and programmatic facilities, over 42,000 people impacted by homelessness have been served. The anniversary celebration served as a poignant reminder of the incredible strides made over the years and the countless lives positively impacted through the organization's programs and initiatives.

The breakfast event provided a platform to honor the dedicated individuals, volunteers, and partners who have been instrumental in HomeAid Colorado's success story. From donors and sponsors to volunteers and community leaders, everyone present shared in the collective achievement and renewed their commitment to furthering the organization's mission.

Throughout the morning, heartfelt testimonials and success stories underscored the tangible difference HomeAid Colorado has made in the lives of countless individuals and families across the state. From providing housing and support services to collaborating with local service providers and other nonprofits, the organization's multifaceted approach to addressing homelessness continues to yield remarkable results.

As HomeAid Colorado looks ahead to the next chapter, the anniversary celebration served as both a reflection of past accomplishments and a call to action for the challenges that lie ahead. With unwavering dedication and continued support from the community, the organization is poised to build upon its legacy of compassion, resilience, and positive change.

2024 HomeAid Spring Essentials Drives Begin Next Month

HomeAid Affiliates across the country conduct spring HomeAid Essential drives collecting much-needed items for families and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Items ranging from diapers, wipes, and baby formula to socks and underwear for individuals in need, our HomeAid Affiliates with their local partners collected and distributed over 6 million items to service providers in their communities in 2023.
