Undergraduate research drives alum to dream career |
Undergraduate research at UW-Whitewater opens doors for students and allows them to gain critical soft skills built through hands-on learning with experienced faculty. Tyler Brasington, who earned a B.S. in environmental science in 2017, used his connections made through undergraduate research and a travel study to Yellowstone National Park to launch his dream career working with grizzly bears in one of the country’s most beautiful geographic areas.

Today: Deadline to register a student org
|
If you’re hoping to start a new student organization during the spring 2026 semester, complete the student org recognition process. Recognized student organizations receive tabling access at involvement fairs, ability to reserve rooms on campus, and utilization of org resources.

| Willies, located inside the University Center, is open this week Monday-Thursday, Dec. 15-18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All other Warhawk Dining locations on the Whitewater and Rock County campuses are closed this week.

The UW-Whitewater men's wheelchair basketball team entered the 2025-26 season as a 14-time intercollegiate wheelchair basketball national champion.

Kudos to John Vodenlich, head baseball coach, who will present “Fundamental Baseball That Wins Games” at the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association Convention on Jan. 10 in Columbus, Ohio. Vodenlich’s Warhawks won the 2025 NCAA Division III national championship in June. John Vodenlich »

Kudos to Cristian Abdala, a finance major from Niles, Illinois, who finished among the top 7% of runners at the 2025 Madison Marathon. Abdala currently serves as president of the Warhawk Marathon Club.
