Preschool Parent Meeting for the 26-27 School Year

We will be having an informational Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten parent meeting for all new parents interested in sending their child to the 2-, 3- and 5-day Preschool for the 2026-2027 school year on Monday, October 20th at 6:30 P.M. in the Media Center. Parents who currently have children in the Preschool are always welcome but are not expected to attend this meeting. Please contact Courtney Eden at edenc@svdpomaha.org with any questions.

The 2026-2027 registration for new and returning preschoolers begins on Tuesday, October 21, with links for registration and child care available in the Click and Go! section on the school homepage.

Kindergarten, 1st-4th grade and 7th grade students who were absent on screening day September 22nd or who need to be re-tested for vision or hearing testing will do so on our Re-Screen Day on Monday, October 20th. Please be aware that the re-screening date has changed due to scheduling conflicts from October 6th to October 20th. Referrals will be sent out following the October 20th screening. When completing the health screening, we follow the guidelines set forth by the state of Nebraska. 

Students will be receiving their fundraising packets today, so please check your student’s backpack when he/she gets home! This year we are raising money for additional security cameras throughout the school.

Students can win prizes just for sharing online in addition to winning prizes for the sales they make. On Monday, October 13, the fifth and sixth grade students hosted grandparents, or special friends for a wonderful morning.
They joined together for the celebration of Mass and then played bingo and ate donuts together.
Many thanks to Julia Storm for organizing the event and to all the students and parents who assisted in setting up, greeting, serving, and cleaning afterward.

We couldn’t host events such as this without your help. Thank you!

Seventh grade students participated in a Youth Frontiers Courage Retreat today designed to build confidence and community. Throughout the day, students engaged in team-building activities that encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones. High school leaders led group discussions that helped students reflect on the importance of standing up for themselves and others. Many students shared personal stories, creating a supportive and respectful environment. Fourteen out of the fifteen leaders were SVdP alums! They came from Creighton Prep, Marian, Duchesne, West View, Elkhorn North, and Elkhorn High. The retreat ended with a renewed sense of courage, kindness, and connection among classmates!

Our 5th grade volleyball team secured a 1st place finish for the 5th grade division.

After School Care 

St. Vincent de Paul School is accepting applications for part-time After School Care employees. The position follows the school calendar from August-May. Hours will be 3:00-6:00 P.M. Please contact Anna and Linda at childcare@svdpomaha.org

This special day is an opportunity for students to spend meaningful time with their grandparents or a special person in their lives. The morning will begin with Mass, followed by coffee, donuts, and a fun game of bingo.

Event Details:

Guest Arrival: Starting at 8:10 A.M. at the school.

Classroom Greeting: Guests will be assisted in finding the student’s classroom.

Mass: Begins at 8:30 A.M., with students and guests walking together to the church.

Reception: After Mass, guests are invited to Kampschneider Hall for coffee, donuts, and bingo.

To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, we kindly ask that each student be accompanied by no more than two guests—this can include grandparents, special friends, or non-school-age siblings—due to space limitations.
