Kudos to the UW-Whitewater Center for Inclusive Transition, Education and Employment (CITEE) for welcoming Southeastern Wisconsin eighth graders with and without disabilities to the UW-Whitewater campus to learn more about the college-to-career connection. The Transition Perspectives Middle School College Day event included networking with UW-Whitewater student mentors, a career interests tour hosted by campus departments, and a visit to the Kachel Fieldhouse to connect with student-athletes. Kudos to Christian Patzka, history major, for being named — for the second year in a row — the North Region Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Patzka has had an exceptional season, winning five out of the six meets he has competed in during the 2023 campaign and securing his second consecutive North Region Championship title with a personal best time of 24:02.0. Kudos to Cristina Ballatori, associate professor of music, who was the featured guest artist last week at a recital sponsored by the University of Minnesota School of Music. Ballatori played the flute and was joined by pianist Kevin Chance to perform a program of works by Gaetano Donizetti, Valerie Coleman, Samuel Zyman and Christian Ellenwood. She has performed across the United States, Europe, England and Latin America as a recitalist, soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. Read more »
