Dear Canyon Campers and Parent/Guardians,

 

It is with great sadness that I'm writing to share an important update regarding our Washington Family Ranch Canyon camp trip, scheduled for August 4–9, 2026.

Due to the ongoing wildfire activity near Washington Family Ranch, Young Life has made the difficult decision to cancel all remaining camp trips for the summer to ensure the safety of every camper, leader, and property staff member. We know this news is incredibly disappointing. This decision was not made lightly, and our hearts grieve alongside yours. 

While camp is one of the most incredible parts of Young Life, the heart of our ministry is caring for students, building meaningful relationships, and sharing the hope and love of Jesus. That mission continues, and our leaders remain committed to walking alongside your students.

What's next?

• We will be contacting each family regarding camp funds and the options available, including refunds or applying funds toward a future camp experience. We'll share more details as soon as the Young Life Camping department provides them.
• Our leaders are exploring the possibility of organizing local activities during what would have been camp week, and we'll let you know if those plans come together. Please continue to save the dates August 4-9!
• Please continue to pray for the Washington Family Ranch staff, local communities, and the firefighters working to contain these wildfires.

 

Thank you for your understanding and support. While this isn't the week we had hoped for, we trust that God is still at work, and we look forward to continuing to invest in the lives of your students.
