Page Deletion Update

In the next few business days, the UCM web team will restrict the ability to delete pages in Drupal so that only UCM web team members can delete pages. Editors and Publishers will still be able to unpublish or archive pages. If you need to have a page deleted, please submit the UCM Request Form.

Reminder:

Archive: You should use the Archive option if a page will eventually be deleted. This is intended to be a permanent change. The page can be restored if needed but the downside is that it must be published live again before it can be edited.

Unpublish: You should use the Unpublish option if a page needs to be taken down temporarily. You can only access this option from the bulk change function on the node listing page. This will take the page down from the live site, but keep it saved as a draft on the backend for editing.

Office of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance Name Change

The Office of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance has changed its name to the Office of Civil Rights Compliance. The URL has changed to https://www.ohio.edu/civil-rights and the email has changed to civilrights@ohio.edu. The UCM web team has updated pages throughout ohio.edu that reference the old name and email, but please be aware on your site of any references and be sure to use the office’s new name for future content.

Document Accessibility Deadline - May 1

The May 1 deadline for document accessibility is upon us. Many ohio.edu Drupal subsites are now fully compliant with our document accessibility standards as stated in the Web CMS User Policy. Thank you for your commitment to this important work.

If you have not yet updated the decision spreadsheet for making your documents accessible, you are in danger of having them removed from the website until they comply. Any documents in process (actively being remediated, turned into a webpage, or exempted) are safe. The UCM web team will continue to review websites and reach out to primary site managers as needed.

You must review any documents linked from your website that are stored in Drupal or SharePoint. Remember that no new documents can be linked from a website unless they have been remediated or an exemption has been made by the UCM web team.

Web Publisher Agreement

In compliance with the Web CMS User Policy, all Publishers in the Drupal Web CMS are required to complete the Web Publisher Agreement. If you have not already done so, please submit this form at your earliest convenience.

Web Editors Forum

The Web Editors Forum is a monthly meeting for all web editors, publishers, and content managers. We come together to discuss topics of interest to the group to improve our websites and the processes we use.

Open Labs

Open labs are offered so that web editors can schedule focused time to work on their web pages and have assistance available. Shelli Minton, Web CMS Specialist and Training Supervisor, will be logged in to answer questions as needed.

Schedule: every Tuesday 2:00-3:00pm and every Thursday 9:00-10:00am

You can add the labs to your calendar by checking the meeting details in the forum general discussion.
