Registration is now open for Spring 2026 curricular courses at the Wond'ry! Several new courses centering on advanced design and making are available this semester for students wanting to further their innovation skillset. Dive deep into the world of human-centered design thinking, master the art of need-finding and user research, and bring your ideas to life with hands-on making and prototyping skills.

Available undergraduate classes for Spring 2026 are:
Design Discovery (ENGM 3890-01)
A deep dive into best practices for engaging in the early stage innovation and design thinking processes.
Class Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1:15PM - 2:30PM
Enterprise Design Thinking (ENGM 3890-02)
A hands-on, project-based course tackling a real-world industry challenge as a team using the IBM Enterprise Design Thinking framework.
Class Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:15PM - 5:30PM
How to Make Almost Anything (and Make It Matter) (ME 3273-01)
An introduction to design thinking, computer-aided design (CAD), hand tools, digital fabrication, and rapid prototyping methods. Also, you get to make stuff!
Eligible for Immersion Vanderbilt's Immersive Experience component
Class Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 12:20PM - 2:20PM
Make It Real and Make It Matter (ME 3890-02)
A team-based, semester-long design/build/test project, crafting a design with an external sponsor/client through advanced prototyping methods, customer research and testing, and iterative client engagement.
Class Time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 3:10PM - 5:00PM
Product Development (ENGM 4500-01)
A project-based course focused on managing the design, development, and commercialization of new products, from conception to prototyping to intellectual property, market testing, and manufacturing.
Class Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:45PM - 4:00PM
Wearable Product Design (ES 3890-03)
An exploration of the dynamic intersection of the human body, technology, fashion and textile design. Students critically examine the stages of sustainable product design while learning to craft garments from scratch.

Prototyping Hardware Tech (ES 3890-05)
An introduction to both the technical foundations and the collaborative, documentation, and outsourcing skills essential to real-world product development in electronics.
