Tumbarello recognized as UW-Whitewater housing keeps students feeling at home |
Terry Tumbarello, executive director of University Housing, won the William B. Sweet Distinguished Service award from the Upper Midwest Region-Association of College and University Housing Officers (UMR-ACUHO). Tumbarello, who is in his 26th year at UW-Whitewater, leads a team of nearly 500 people who serve Warhawk students.

Apply now for scholarships
|
Applications for scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year are currently accepting submissions! UW-Whitewater students have the opportunity to apply for numerous scholarships, totaling over $2.5 million annually. These scholarships are available through the UW-Whitewater Foundation or specific colleges and majors. The deadline for the majority of scholarships is Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.

Inauguration events include the ceremony at 2 p.m. in Young Auditorium and a reception at 3 p.m. in the James R. Connor University Center.

Chancellor Corey A. King and Provost John Chenoweth invite you to join this year’s UW-Whitewater Inclusivity Forum, which is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the James R. Kudos to Elisabeth Harrahy, associate professor of biology, who is credited for inspiring an alumna who once worked in her lab as an undergraduate researcher on one of the first projects funded by the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin. The alum, Anya (AJ) Jeninga, who earned her B.S. in biology–ecology, evolution and behavior emphasis with minor in psychology and geology in 2020, has been hired as the first-ever emerging contaminant outreach specialist at UW-Extension’s Natural Resources Institute, working with the community and local health departments to build a better response to PFAS contamination. Kudos to Warhawk Women’s Basketball Team for securing a historic win over #22 UW-Stout 80-70 on Jan. 13. With the win, the Warhawks improved to 15-0, making it the best start to a season in program history. The Warhawks are the only unbeaten team in the WIAC this year to date. Read more »

Kudos to Erika Dugger, marketing specialist in the College of Business and Economics, for being named a Game Changer by Junior Achievement of Wisconsin. Open to pianists of any age who have taken at least three years of piano lessons, Piano Day will take place Saturday, Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Greenhill Center of the Arts. Registrants will participate in a variety of hands-on activities, including private lessons from UW-Whitewater piano faculty. Registration is limited to 30 participants.

#4 WBB tips off with Eau Claire
|
Women’s Basketball takes on Eau Claire at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 in Kachel Gymnasium in the Williams Center. The rematch will be another test for the Warhawks in their magnificent season from a win against the Blugolds 66-53 on Jan. 6. The Warhawks hold a three-game win streak and will look to stay undefeated. If not able to attend the game will be streamed live on the WIAC Network.
