Thinking ahead is difficult. Most of us don’t know what’s for dinner tonight, let alone what we’ll be doing two years from now.
2027 might feel far away, but many things have lasted longer than 2 years. Most notably, it’s taken HBO more than three years to finish the third season of Euphoria.
So before we know it, 2027 will be upon us. GWIT recently announced that WebEx will be fully replaced with Zoom in 2027. Scroll ahead on your Google Calendar and set a reminder!
If desired, you can migrate your meetings to Zoom now.

Do Your Future Self a Favor with Notes for Next Time |
Have you ever gotten an idea mid-semester of something you’d like to change/improve in your course? Perhaps it is too late to implement in real time, so you write it down, only to forget to refer back to it a year later. We’ve all been there.
One way to guarantee that you’ll see it next time the course is offered is to create a hidden page in your Blackboard course called Notes for Next Time (cutesy name optional). To do this, click the plus icon at the top of the course menu and select Content Area. Leave the “available to users” box unchecked to keep it hidden from students.
|
Use this space to keep a running list of things you want to change, reflections on the overall course structure, pain points, and feedback from students. It is easy to forget the challenges when you’ve had some distance from them, so make note of them in real time. Your future self will thank you.
