Friday: International Dinner |
The UW-Whitewater International Student Association will host the annual International Dinner this Friday, March 6, at 6 p.m. The menu includes dishes from all over the world, and the post-dinner event includes a cultural showcase of songs, dancing, and music. Celebrate culture and friendship with Warhawks from all over the globe.

This Friday, March 6, is the last day to charge Purple Points to your student bill for the fall 2025 semester. After March 6, you can still purchase Purple Points, but the option to add them to your student bill will no longer be available for this semester. |
A total of 156 students from UW-Whitewater are representing the university as student teachers at schools in Wisconsin, Illinois, and other neighboring states during the 2026 spring semester.

| Cross country athletes earn All-Academic honors
|
Seven members of the UW-Whitewater men's and women's cross country teams were recognized by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic honorees for their academic and athletic success during the 2025 season.

Spring 2026 Launch Pad Scholars
|
A total of seven students at UW-Whitewater are scholars in Launch Pad, a startup business accelerator, for the spring 2026 semester.

Kudos to Lucy Heimer, professor of curriculum and instruction, and the Master of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education Policy (MSE in ECEP) program, who received a grant award of $50,621 from the Early Childhood Policy in Institutions of Higher Education. The award, which runs through June 2027, will support ongoing research and scholarship and support tuition fellowships of up to 50% for three to five MSE in ECEP students.
Kudos to Robyn Accetta and Matthew Imhoff, assistant professors of theatre/dance, who presented the workshop “Crafting a Shared Vision” at the American College Theatre Festival Region 3 Annual Conference in January. The workshop explored the collaborative relationship between designers and directors. Imhoff also presented a workshop, "From Xacto to Exact,” that introduced attendees to the craft of detailed scenic model building. Eric Appleton, associate professor of theatre/dance, presented the workshop "Deep-Dive Script Analysis,” exploring and analyzing a play text from a production viewpoint.

A study by UW-Whitewater’s Fiscal and Economic Research Center (FERC) was referenced in a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article about musky fishing in the Green Bay area.

Maddie Sweetman, an English major from Delavan, was quoted in an article by The Daily Yonder on a community proposal to create a combined childcare center and senior-living space. Sweetman is a part of the local community group Groundswell Collective, which is advocating for the space. UW-Whitewater’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders partners with the Flourishing Next Steps program at Purdy Elementary in Fort Atkinson, creating a mutually-beneficial relationship that benefits both student participants and children in the community. Lillian Groblewski, a communication sciences and disorders major from Lake Villa, Illinois, completed her second semester volunteering with Flourishing Next Steps in December. In-school partnership »
