Thank you for your participation in the 2024 Al‑Anon Family Groups Membership Survey. The Al‑Anon World Service Office is grateful for your time and commitment to provide data‑supported information to mental health, alcoholism/addiction, and medical professionals.

“Obedience to the unenforceable.” If those words resonate strongly with you, particularly in the matter of protecting Al‑Anon’s trademark and copyright, you may be interested in the opportunity to support the World Service Office (WSO) in its ongoing efforts to ensure Al‑Anon members globally share our message in a manner that protects our name and reputation.

The WSO is seeking an Al‑Anon member with three or more years of Al‑Anon participation who has legal experience for the remote part‑time Paralegal position. Feel free to forward this opportunity to any Al‑Anon member you know who might be interested in applying.

Be on the lookout for the “Dear Abby” newspaper column on August 7 that recommends Al‑Anon.  

Many newspapers have either gone entirely digital or include some bonus content available online only. Consider searching their website for the article and, if possible, leave a comment expressing your gratitude for the recommendation. Please protect your anonymity at the level of the internet by not revealing your membership in the program.       

Readers of national media items could contact the World Service Office (WSO) for local meeting information. It is always important for groups to provide the WSO and all service arm websites with up‑to‑date meeting information, so that everyone can assist newcomers in finding a meeting.

In February, May, August, and November, the Quarterly Appeal gives each member an opportunity to participate individually in Twelfth-Step work beyond the group level.

August’s topic is, “Share about a public outreach project you were involved in that you felt was successful. If applicable, how did this project allow you to engage with underserved communities?” 

As always, you can also write about Al‑Anon’s three Legacies. This month features Step Eight, Tradition Eight, and Concept Eight. 

Sharings on the Member Blog may be used in future Al‑Anon publications.
