Miami ranked No. 4 among all U.S. institutions for the total number of students sent abroad during the 2020-2021 academic year
|

A team effort led to Miami's No. 4 ranking among all U.S. institutions for the total number of students sent abroad. According to the latest Open Doors® report released by the Institute of International Education (IIE) on Monday, November 14, Miami is also among the top five public doctoral institutions for the percent of undergraduates who study abroad.

|
Spring Break and Summer Faculty-Led Program Applications are Open!
|
|
|
| #FindYourPlace in 2023 by attending a faculty-led study abroad or away program! Workshops offer course credit in the arts, business, healthcare, humanities, foreign language, and more.
Currently we are offering three programs that will run during Spring Break 2023. For Summer 2023, more than a dozen programs are already open, with others on the way. Applications can fill up quickly—so apply early!

Miami was well-represented at the NAFSA Bi-Regional (VI/VIII) Conference held in Pittsburgh, PA November 15-18, 2022 at the Omni William Penn Hotel.

International Peer Orientation Leaders (iPOLs) are undergraduate or graduate students who assist ISSS with welcoming new international students to Miami University. iPOLs play an integral role in shaping a positive orientation experience for new international students and preparing them to achieve success at Miami University.

Faculty Research Profile: Saruna Ghimire
|
|
|
|
Assistant Professor Saruna Ghimire (Sociology and Gerontology) leverages her background in public health and prolific research portfolio in global aging to teach epidemiology and global aging courses at Miami. Her research focuses on health and well-being in later life, including understanding the social determinants of healthy aging among diverse communities.
In the summer of 2022, she was awarded the Philip and Elaina Hampton Fund for Faculty International Initiatives to travel to Nepal to oversee an ongoing research project on Aging in Nepal.

Applications for MUDEC Summer 2023 and Fall 2023 are due soon!
|
|
|
| Summer is a great time to study at MUDEC! We offer two different programs:
Base Program: Complete two courses (6 credit hours) over nearly seven weeks. Program includes a study tour to a European destination and travel opportunities throughout.
Internship Program: A zero-credit option that pairs students with international companies and organizations to provide global internship opportunities and résumé builders. Live in Luxembourg with accommodation provided.

In our Fall Program, students earn at least 15 credit hours that can apply to Miami degree requirements. Complete your Miami Plan Foundation requirements, including a Thematic Sequence, in just one term! (Spring 2024 applications will open in January with an application deadline of May 1.)
The deadline to apply for both Summer and Fall 2023 is December 1. Learn more and access the application on the MUDEC website.
